From crown molding to custom millwork, we match precision trim work to your home’s existing character.
Trim is often the most detailed part of a paint job, and it shows the most when it’s rushed. Custom-built Montecito, CA homes tend to have more of it too, crown molding, wainscoting, built-in cabinetry trim, and multiple window and door casings throughout larger floor plans, which adds up to considerably more linear footage than a standard home’s trim package. R&R Painting and Wallpaper approaches trim work as its own discipline, scoping the time and precision it actually needs rather than treating it as an afterthought tacked onto a wall paint job.
Older or more traditional Montecito, CA homes often have existing wood trim with distinct profiles, sometimes original to the house, that newer stock trim doesn’t match. Matching or carefully restoring that trim, rather than replacing it with something generic, tends to matter more here than in a newer, more standardized home.
Our trim work covers baseboards, crown molding, and window and door casings across Montecito homes, from a single room's trim to a full estate's millwork package.
Offices and retail spaces along Coast Village Road get the same precision trim painting and repair, scheduled around business hours to avoid disrupting operations.
More square footage generally means more trim, longer hallways, more doors and windows, larger great rooms with more crown molding to cut in. On top of that, custom architectural details, coffered ceilings, built-in shelving, decorative moldings, take more time and a steadier hand than standard trim work. We assess the full scope of a home’s trim before quoting, since a house with extensive custom millwork takes meaningfully longer than one with simple, standard trim throughout.
We take a detail-focused approach to trim projects, from evaluating existing features to creating crisp that complement Montecito interiors.
Older Montecito homes sometimes have trim profiles that aren’t available off the shelf anymore, decorative moldings or casings specific to when the house was built. When existing trim needs to be extended, repaired, or partially replaced, we work to match the existing profile as closely as possible rather than introducing a visibly different style into the same room. This matters most in homes where trim is a defining architectural feature rather than just a functional detail, since a mismatched profile stands out immediately once painted.
